  • Do not use olive oil when cooking: As it reaches high temperatures, olive oil loses its beneficial properties and becomes harmful to health. Therefore, sunflower oil or butter for cooking is the best choice. In addition, avoid Greek yogurt and other foods which contain olive oil.

  • Canola oil: This is a type of oil that damages our health. By “drowning” our cells they can no longer function properly, and eventually, this leads to cancerous conditions.

Some chemicals are also harmful to our bodies, though they may not be present in what we eat. The following list is a partial list of chemicals to stay away from to prevent skin cancer:

  • Aluminum: Many of them contain aluminum which, when placed on our skin, can cause diseases such as skin cancer. Avoid deodorants, colognes, creams, and other products that directly go on to our skin.
  • Mercury: This heavy metal is used to produce makeup, but can be highly toxic and lead to malignant melanoma in humans.
  • Phenoline and phenyl: Various studies suggest that microphone, phenolphthalein, chlorophenol, and phenylenediamine sulfate are highly carcinogenic chemicals and may be found in mouthwashes. They are highly used disinfectants that can cause cancer.
  • Phthalates: Solvents and softeners are often found in creams, nail polishes, perfumes, deodorants, or hairspray, and are responsible for the development of a wide variety of cancers.

On labels, it can be found under the names of:

  • diethylhexilophthalate (DEHP)
  • dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
  • butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP)
  • diisononylphthalate (DINP)
  • diisodecylphthalate (DIDP)
  • dioctyl phthalate (DNOP)
